Ride On Australia – Australia’s first driver-led ride share and booking platform – will launch in Cairns.
The platform, which is set to disrupt the $800 million per year ride share industry in Australia, is rolling out nationally on a city-by-city basis, starting with Cairns this week.
Ride On Australia bypasses the high booking commissions charged by the large international ride share companies such as Uber. It redirects the commissions back to drivers as higher income, passengers as trip rebates and the local charities through its ‘impact ride’ feature.
Head of Operations, Ryan Newell said that the growing resentment in the industry because of the excessive commissions paid by drivers to overseas ride share companies and the declining service standards for passengers is what birthed Ride On Australia. The Ride On platform empowers our member drivers to earn a viable part-time and full-time income; and our passengers to get better value fares from the highest rated, service oriented drivers.
Ride On Australia already has more than 70 driver members (RODOs – Ride On Driver Owners) in Cairns (2,188 across Australia), all with a minimum 4.75 star passenger ratings.
“The Ride On difference is that our driver members are highly motivated to serve their passengers. We’re delighted to have attracted the cream of the crop in Cairns and for this to be our first city to launch in. Our driver members here are exceptional.
Ride On is an Australian owned and operated company.
