          Gig Economy workers Fight back.

Ride On Australia unites ride-share & food delivery workers to offer commission free services to small business merchants & households

A national uprising against the unethical and aggressive behaviour of foreign food delivery & ride-share conglomerates has taken place in the wake of COVID-19.

Led by Joe Corrigan and Yossi Lavy, two longtime friends and former part-time Uber drivers, Ride On Australia has attracted a legion of frustrated and passionate gig economy workers from across Australia.

“As social distancing rules impacted the food services industry, we witnessed the true nature of these corporate owned app companies, who literally squeeze local small business owners and merchants for everything they could. Much like they have been doing to ride share drivers for the past 5 years” said Corrigan.

Community focused and driven by a mission for a fair go, Ride On Australia has responded to the pleas of small business merchants struggling to keep their doors open, often paying up to 35% commissions to foreign owned app companies.

Through the concept of community-led commerce, the Ride On platform is built around a network of community leaders, casual and member drivers who use mobile and web based applications to connect with merchants and households. The platform initially focuses on delivering essential items such as prepared food, groceries, non-prescription medication, beverages and pet products.

Ride On Australia’s platform provides a flexible, low-cost solution for merchants to support their customers and local communities with home deliveries as Australians are urged to stay at home.

Customers are encouraged to order directly with local businesses so they save on the excessive commission charges usually paid when using overseas food delivery apps.

RIDE ON AUSTRALIA LAUNCHES HOME DELIVERY SERVICE

Ride On Australia – Australia’s 1st driver-led transport & home delivery platform launches nationwide.

In response to the lock downs across major cities in Australia resulting from the COVID 19 - Corona virus; Australian startup Ride On Australia, has launched its home delivery service nationwide.

The platform and it's driver members are taking the fight to dominant offshore competitors that generate over a billion dollars per year in revenues.

Ride On Australia bypasses the high booking fees charged by the large international ride share and food delivery companies such as Uber (between 27-35%) via a membership model. It redirects the fees back to drivers as higher income, customers as rebates and as contributions to local charities and families in need.

As the public restrict their movements outside of their homes and the suspension of home delivery services by a number of major retailers, Ride On Australia is looking to fill a gap in the market for home delivery of household necessities by adopting appropriate pandemic protocols including wearing of face masks when on service, door drop offs and vehicle sanitation practices to reduce the risk to themselves, rides and the public.

Ride On Australia already has more than 2,000 driver members which is expected to surpass 5,000 members within the next 3 weeks.

Ride On is an Australian owned and operated company.

Ride On Australia uses technology to serve people, not the other way round.

Through a membership model, Ride On Australia's members are treated as owner operators of the platform, enabling them to better serve customers and partner merchants across the country.
